Monday in Amarillo

I've been doing this workout program my friend Melissa recommended to me. I absolutely love it because it fits my lifestyle perfectly!  I was super excited to get the chance to meet up with her for a couple of days...one, so she could make sure I was doing everything correctly and two, I didn't want to mess up my groove by not working-out the whole time I was outta town.  I HATE cardio and never liked going to the gym because you are made to feel like if you don't do cardio or run well then you aren't doing much.  Bull!  It all starts with eating right.  I think cardio is good for you obviously, but its not the end all of working out.  I love walking or hiking or riding bikes but you will never get me in a strenuous spin class.

Everyone needs a buddy at the gym to tell you how good your are doing and how amazing you look AND to take pictures of you while working out so you can see your muscles from different angles.  Melissa said, "your shoulders look so good, let me take a picture!" Haha! Needless to say she's a dear friend who made me feel as if I looked like Jillian Michaels by the end of our workout! Everyone needs to surround themselves with people who lift them up like that, makes you feel good inside :)  ( man I wish I had a butt!!!, missed that on the Colombian checklist)

Landon sent me this while I was outta town.  Miss my pooty!

The weather was amazing on Monday so b played outside with Callie while Hason took his nap.

There used to be GIANT trees all over this park but apparently the drought a couple summers ago got them.  :( so sad, there aren't a lot of trees there anyways so it is awful to see these go.

Juquita my mother in law suggested we go to the zoo.  I thought that was a marvelous way to spend the day outside.  I called up Landon's aunt and cousins to join us too.

Brielle had a good ole time trying to boss them around and tell them which way to go and what to look at next.

Little booger pulling my hair....

Alright I saw WAAAAAY to much of this while I was in town!  I saw 3 women just at the zoo with shirts that were way to short and their stomachs hanging out under them.  This is not ok.  My cousin just got back from living in Italy for a couple years, sounds marvelous, people don't dress like fools.  They don't even wear flip flops, they believe they are just for the beach and think they are disgusting cause you are hardly wearing shoes and your feet get so dirty.  I kinda have to agree with them. I think feet are gross and I don't want to see them.  I've never liked flip flops. I know I'm in the minority with that but I don't even like tennis/athletic shoes.  Me and the kids only wear tennis shoes to workout or go to the park.  I'm weird in that way I guess.  Another thing the Italians asked my cousin "why do you guys wear flip flops in winter and uggs with shorts"  It's so stupid and embarrassing people.  If your gonna wear that stuff wear it in the appropriate season!!!!! DUH!

I like hearing about how other countries do things...dress, eat, raise their kids.  I do believe we live in the greatest country EVER and would never want to live anywhere else but I don't think we have it all figured out.  I would love to incorporate the things I like about those other places into my life more. Rant over :)
(and yes I'm guilty of taking pictures of random people without them knowing, but sometimes I can't believe my eyes and have to show Landon at least)

I can't believe how grown up Nick and Allie are!  I started dating Landon when she was 1, can you believe that, she's now 15! (Kaytie was 11!) and Nick has never known life without me...Lucky boy ;)

After the zoo we stopped for frozen yogurt at Orange Leaf.  How cute is he with his backwards hat! A regular G.  As in Gann.

She's just so pretty to her momma inside and out.

Pistachio ice cream...EAT it LOVE it!

Then we were off to grandmas for dinner.......

The sweetest surprise was getting to spend time with Aunt Cindy too! We hardly see her at all so it was so nice to get to be with her.

She sure loves my kids.

And this is grandmas new dog, silly looking little thing haha but oh so sweet. Grandma named her Katie....um yeah we don't really know what's up with that.  Kaytie (Landon's sister not the dog) adopted a new puppy a while ago, I told her to give it to grandma, she said "she'll probably name it Diana" ....yeah never mind, you keep it ;)

Best thing about our whole trip home was grandma had made some homemade ice cream! If you've read my blog you know its my most favorite thing in the whole world!!!!!  AAAANNNND she even gave me a ice cream freezer!! I cannot wait to try it and "attempt" grandmas recipe!

That evening Kaytie came by for a bit, we had some cake (we shouldn't have since we are all trying to be healthy but none of us were strong enough to stand up and say NO ha)  Then Teresa and I just laid around and had girl talk, I loved spending time with her like that!
Well I thought I did pretty good on my diet while outta town but after righting this post I realized I had ice cream twice in one day and cake. Fail.

Sunday Funday In "A" Town

Saturday morning Grammy and Poppy stopped by to see the kids.  Grams and I had a good talk about how raising a family is not for the lazy haha.

Then we had Pizza Hut with Gigi and Gannpa.  Not so good for my diet but I was proud that I only had two cheesy bread sticks.

Randy looks like a boss in his shades!  I adore my father in law, he is dear to my heart.  He's such a caring giving person. Always has everyone's best interest in mind.  Landon and Kaytie were truly blessed with one of the best dads there is out there.  I get awfully huffy and puffy and my blood boils anytime anyone even thinks about saying anything not nice about this man.  He's the best of the best.

We were laughing at B cause her pizza was too hot to pick up so she improvised and wrapped it in a napkin, ain't nobody got time for food to cool especially pizza.

Leftover bachelorette party attire.  Teresa thought if she chose that one it would ward off the men.  I wonder if he even realized what it said ha.

That afternoon we went to my sisters house to visit.....ok I lie...to see her NEW ENGAGEMENT RING!!! It's even more amazing in person! (why didn't I get a picture?)

Dinner at Malcolm's, love that place.

I tell ya all weekend was like this, I jumped from one meet up to another.  It was INSANE, fun and exhausting all at the same time.  After dinner I met one of my best friends Tana for wine.  I tried a new Acai wine since they were out of my Blueberry wine I normally order.  Well lets just say I found my new favorite!

You will not meet a nicer more kind and caring person than her. I'm blessed to have her as a friend!

Sunday morning we made it to church.  I loved our church and always try to make it a point to go when we are in town.  This however was the first time I wasn't super sad being there cause I missed it so much.  I was happy with that, it's time for me to move on and build a foundation in our new church.

After church we ran to walmart to get Brielle some tennis shoes.  Since I didn't bring my own car and would be riding down and back with other people I pack minimally! (that's why you will notice the kids wearing the same outfits over and over haha)  I didn't' think we would do anything athletic so I only packed dress shoes for B.  Luckily I planned on working out so I brought mine.  We met my fam at Palo Duro canyon.  We had lunch, a small hike and played a mad game of keep away.  My Aunt was ferocious!

After our Canyon day we went back to my mother in laws for dinner.  She also kept Hason for me so he could sleep and we could actually hike.

Spring Break In Amarillo

My mom and cousin were going to Amarillo the weekend before spring break so me and the kids decided to bum a ride and go too.  We didn't have any plans to go back home until Thanksgiving and I know that's way to long for the kids to go without seeing their grandparents.  Landon stayed behind, mostly cause the past couple years he's used his vacation to go to Amarillo and he/we want a REAL vacation this year.

Pit stop at subway

My mother was super embarrassed that I went in with rollers in my hair.  I have no shame :) besides I had a birthday party then a girls night to attend almost the minute we got to town, I wouldn't have had time to get ready later.
I picked up my friend Khara and he headed to our sorority sister's daughters Birthday party. I knew Brielle would love that!

Curlers all day and my hair is straight as a board ugh!

Melissa made the cake! How amazing is that! Such talent!

After the party we took the kids to Landon's dads and put them down for bed, changed and headed out to pick up our friend Alicia who drove in from Borger to spend the night with us.

First stop, Hummers for food and drinks

I can't tell you how excited I was about hanging out with my friends.  It was so much fun the minute I got there!

I had a fun night hitting up several different places.  I HATE that they allow smoking everywhere.  Just one of the many perks of living in Dallas is all the smoke free places.

Our mark on the wall at Golden Light.

Of course at 3am we got the munchies and stopped at waffle house for dinner breakfast.
Might I add I didn't get home till 3:30 and Hason decided to get up at 6:30 that day AHHH!
