Monday in Amarillo

I've been doing this workout program my friend Melissa recommended to me. I absolutely love it because it fits my lifestyle perfectly!  I was super excited to get the chance to meet up with her for a couple of days...one, so she could make sure I was doing everything correctly and two, I didn't want to mess up my groove by not working-out the whole time I was outta town.  I HATE cardio and never liked going to the gym because you are made to feel like if you don't do cardio or run well then you aren't doing much.  Bull!  It all starts with eating right.  I think cardio is good for you obviously, but its not the end all of working out.  I love walking or hiking or riding bikes but you will never get me in a strenuous spin class.

Everyone needs a buddy at the gym to tell you how good your are doing and how amazing you look AND to take pictures of you while working out so you can see your muscles from different angles.  Melissa said, "your shoulders look so good, let me take a picture!" Haha! Needless to say she's a dear friend who made me feel as if I looked like Jillian Michaels by the end of our workout! Everyone needs to surround themselves with people who lift them up like that, makes you feel good inside :)  ( man I wish I had a butt!!!, missed that on the Colombian checklist)

Landon sent me this while I was outta town.  Miss my pooty!

The weather was amazing on Monday so b played outside with Callie while Hason took his nap.

There used to be GIANT trees all over this park but apparently the drought a couple summers ago got them.  :( so sad, there aren't a lot of trees there anyways so it is awful to see these go.

Juquita my mother in law suggested we go to the zoo.  I thought that was a marvelous way to spend the day outside.  I called up Landon's aunt and cousins to join us too.

Brielle had a good ole time trying to boss them around and tell them which way to go and what to look at next.

Little booger pulling my hair....

Alright I saw WAAAAAY to much of this while I was in town!  I saw 3 women just at the zoo with shirts that were way to short and their stomachs hanging out under them.  This is not ok.  My cousin just got back from living in Italy for a couple years, sounds marvelous, people don't dress like fools.  They don't even wear flip flops, they believe they are just for the beach and think they are disgusting cause you are hardly wearing shoes and your feet get so dirty.  I kinda have to agree with them. I think feet are gross and I don't want to see them.  I've never liked flip flops. I know I'm in the minority with that but I don't even like tennis/athletic shoes.  Me and the kids only wear tennis shoes to workout or go to the park.  I'm weird in that way I guess.  Another thing the Italians asked my cousin "why do you guys wear flip flops in winter and uggs with shorts"  It's so stupid and embarrassing people.  If your gonna wear that stuff wear it in the appropriate season!!!!! DUH!

I like hearing about how other countries do things...dress, eat, raise their kids.  I do believe we live in the greatest country EVER and would never want to live anywhere else but I don't think we have it all figured out.  I would love to incorporate the things I like about those other places into my life more. Rant over :)
(and yes I'm guilty of taking pictures of random people without them knowing, but sometimes I can't believe my eyes and have to show Landon at least)

I can't believe how grown up Nick and Allie are!  I started dating Landon when she was 1, can you believe that, she's now 15! (Kaytie was 11!) and Nick has never known life without me...Lucky boy ;)

After the zoo we stopped for frozen yogurt at Orange Leaf.  How cute is he with his backwards hat! A regular G.  As in Gann.

She's just so pretty to her momma inside and out.

Pistachio ice cream...EAT it LOVE it!

Then we were off to grandmas for dinner.......

The sweetest surprise was getting to spend time with Aunt Cindy too! We hardly see her at all so it was so nice to get to be with her.

She sure loves my kids.

And this is grandmas new dog, silly looking little thing haha but oh so sweet. Grandma named her Katie....um yeah we don't really know what's up with that.  Kaytie (Landon's sister not the dog) adopted a new puppy a while ago, I told her to give it to grandma, she said "she'll probably name it Diana" ....yeah never mind, you keep it ;)

Best thing about our whole trip home was grandma had made some homemade ice cream! If you've read my blog you know its my most favorite thing in the whole world!!!!!  AAAANNNND she even gave me a ice cream freezer!! I cannot wait to try it and "attempt" grandmas recipe!

That evening Kaytie came by for a bit, we had some cake (we shouldn't have since we are all trying to be healthy but none of us were strong enough to stand up and say NO ha)  Then Teresa and I just laid around and had girl talk, I loved spending time with her like that!
Well I thought I did pretty good on my diet while outta town but after righting this post I realized I had ice cream twice in one day and cake. Fail.
